34 weeks: Back to mother-blogging

The amount of traffic this blog received in giving directions and updates on the ice caves in Crystal Beach this week was immense. You can tell how many free and cool things happen around here on a regular basis. Traffic was backed up anywhere from 4 to 24 kilometres on Family Day, Fort Erie’s Gorham Road bursting with would-be sightseers. All that, and no washroom facilities. We sure know how to treat our tourists.

While I enjoyed the nice boost, things have gotten a bit melty (though not for long) and the ice caves are gone. It’s time to get back to regular blogging! This comes at a good time as the pain from a nerve I pinched seems to be subsiding.

34 weeks pregnant

Here I am making a ta-da motion as I log my bump picture for Week 34. It’s kind of amazing. I don’t expand 6 inches until around bedtime lately (as opposed to barely being able to fit within the confines of my already expanded bra by 4pm). I’m not sure if this is due to drowning myself in glasses of water all day, working out more, the baby dropping or maybe a combination. I really have no idea how to tell if he’s ‘dropped’. Do you? At any rate, I will say that my awful grandma veins that have shown up hurt a lot less when I get a workout in a few times a week. 10/10 would recommend.

Speaking of The Kid, I’ve got a few baby-related projects on the go — the next of which I’ll probably post about is a very cheap way to improv your own nursing bra. Three bras for the price of less than one? OK!

Be strong, my friends. The weekend is here! Hope you get to enjoy it!

About Nikki

I've been writing since I was in kindergarten where I Crayola-markered an epic tale of a tiger and a balloon on a stack of lined papers folded into a booklet and stapled along the edge (carefully, and by my teacher). I love DIY, sewing, folksy music, animals and getting out to look at and listen to nature.
