Fact: If you are traveling to a place you normally wouldn’t for work purposes (e.g., a conference two hours away, traveling to a different location for purposes of training, etc.), your company is not required to pay your mileage but they are required to pay you wages for time spent traveling. Seems especially unfair when the cost of gasoline used may be the equivalent of wages earned in these days of ridiculous fuel prices and minimum wages.
