I’m mulling over the ol’ Google Analytics (which by the way, is inferior in every way to my old methods, namely Sitemeter and Clicky), and I can’t help but notice the difference between traffic say, 7 years ago, and now on my blogs. Sure, it’s a different URL, I am far less interactive on the ol’ internets (except on Facebook and Twitter, where I nearly never link to my blog entries, hrm – potential problem on my part). There was a time when, even without the obsessive counterpart who would view my page 25-50 times a day, I would get around 80-100 daily hits. I’m scared to tell you what the number is now. [Ed note: Single digits, peeps.]
I guess I’m also a lot more boring now than I was 7 years ago. I was somewhat of a cat back then, I was! Jesus. Getting old really hurts the blog. That, and blogging apparently has lost ‘cred’ and isn’t very cool anymore. Well, you know what I think is cool? E-readers and getting cleanup done early to be able to get to bed at 11! Take that, young masses!
At least Canada’s on my side. My returning visitors are all-Canadian. And that one unfortunate cult town in the States, but I won’t single them out with a name. You know who you are, and I do love your returning visits!
