Throwback Monday: DIY Pallet Headboard

Wading through some older entries (because having a toddler puts a bit of a damper on the upcycling time) and having fun reliving the olden days that I hope to soon revisit.

DIY headboard progress

It’s beginning to look a lot like headboards

Wanted to point out that our DIY pallet headboard has held up wonderfully!

The only thing I’d do differently is sand the very top of it completely smooth before staining to make it easier to dust. And maybe I’d seal it, if I could find one that wasn’t too glossy.

It’s a great time of year to take on this type of project. The stain and sawdust is easily ventilated, there hasn’t been much rain (here, anyway) and there’s plenty of daylight left after work to get things done.

Have a look!

About Nikki

I've been writing since I was in kindergarten where I Crayola-markered an epic tale of a tiger and a balloon on a stack of lined papers folded into a booklet and stapled along the edge (carefully, and by my teacher). I love DIY, sewing, folksy music, animals and getting out to look at and listen to nature.
