I’m buying all my toiletries from Walmart from now on. Now, don’t get me wrong. I hate Walmart just as much as the next person, but I sure don’t hate how they’re $4 less for a large jug of shampoo than it costs to buy a much smaller bottle at the store I work for. Even at discount, I get nothing like that. Points? Who gives a shit? I’d rather have money in my pocket, not points I’m always hesitant to spend.
Dear John was a really good book. Proven dead wrong to not expect much from it, I was sad when it was finished. Maybe it’s because all the books I tend to read are filled with eccentric characters. Sometimes, there are ‘normal’ people, and, sometimes, they have stories too. That’s what this taught me. That said, I won’t be sad to read another zany story. I like me a crazy character here or there or everywhere. This one reached into my chest and massaged my heart (non-sexually) to remind me (not that I need reminding) that life is very, very good right now; it also seemed to scream at me, “Don’t screw it up!” You should read it, if you’re at a loss for something to fall into this spring.
I’m so far surpassing my quiet goal of reading a novel per month this year. I know that’s not a lot, but when I clean my house and I cook and I work several jobs and I go for drives with a certain boy 70 times a week, reading a book is a great accomplishment. So far I’m at 3… or 4. One of them was a book of short stories, and although I’m not really counting it, I really felt you should know.
