Follow me on Pinterest!

If you’ve visited this site a time or two, you may have noticed a veritable um… tapestry(?) of interests — but not a [complete] lack of focus! Like many people (you?), I have too many ideas and far too little time, especially now with my handmade shop up and running. This complete disarray becomes an organized bulletin board of dreams on my Pinterest. I’d love it if you’d follow me there! I promise it’s full of great ideas, many of which I’m positive you’d love, because I know you’re … Continue reading

Wow! Old Dresser to DIY Vintage Bench Pinned 2000 times!

DIY vintage bench from old dresser

Awoke to see that our old beat-up dresser to pretty vintage bench post has reached 2000 pins on Pinterest! UPDATE: 3000+ a week and a half later! :O Thank you thank you thank you! That makes me very happy! And to think we found it for free on the side of the road. Best! Soon I want to make a simple upholstered bench out of an old coffee table we have for the foot of the bed or even for our small entryway. More on that after… And … Continue reading

Facebook Comment Emoticons

Found this on Facebook today, and because I like to share things here more than I do on the social media site, here you go. I don’t know how we lived without all of these before. What’s your favourite Facebook emoticon? (Bearing in mind that they won’t work in my comments section, in all likelihood.) Facebook Hashtagging: It’s a Thing Now

The most recent Facebook fad is complaining about people haphazardly tossing hashtags into their posts on the social media site. On June 12, it was announced that clickable hashtagging has been introduced to Facebook. I was away on my honeymoon for a week or so, and that means I’m married now, so I’m doubly likely to have my finger off the pulse of the news world. So, I’m wondering: Is this the reason for the uproar, or is this in response to it? I’m sure … Continue reading

Windows Live Messenger is Not Dead Yet

What I announced a couple of months back was a vicious lie. Rather it was an untruth, as Windows Live Messenger simply cannot make up their minds about when to go. You may or may not have received this email. As for me, I must have deleted mine. Thanks again to Curtis for forwarding me this information, you need a blog too. For those who have previously used WLM, have you made the transition to Skype? Don’t you find it’s awful? Share the post “Windows … Continue reading

Can You Block Contacts on Skype Using a Windows Live Account?

With the inevitable transitioning of Windows Live Messenger over to Skype this coming March, users previously unfamiliar with Skype are realizing perks and drawbacks left and right.  Today’s drawback comes to you from the Block/Appear Offline feature most of us are used to on WLM and other popular messengers. At the time of writing, Skype currently offers the Block/Appear Offline feature but not to anyone signing in with their WLM account.  You must instead use the Skype login if you care to block.  This would … Continue reading

Windows Live Messenger (MSN) Gone for Good March 15

UPDATED: SEE THIS POST and consider the one below inaccurate, thanks to Microsoft. — Beware the Ides of March.  Why?  Not because your best friend is going to stab you in the back, but it might feel like it to the loyal users who have stuck with Windows Live Messenger through all its incarnations. The go-to replacement of the early 2000s for dated services like ICQ will be leaving us forever on March 15, 2013.  Not to worry, you can still use its services by … Continue reading
