Turning 2!

Birthday cake time!

Happy birthday, Coolguy! This kid is our light. He’s made everything better and given us 1) a whole new perspective on life; 2) the realization that sleep deprivation is a powerful torture mechanism; and 3) filled our (previously grey & withered) hearts with love. Anyway I’ll hush up now. I just like this guy a bunch and can’t believe it’s been two years since my bladder worked properly. Love you, kid! John’s 1st birthday party!

Smash cake in waiting.

It’s been [almost!] a whole year since John became the center of our world. It really did fly by, considering the long and agonizing nights, as well as the routines we had to establish to avoid said nights. What a year. I’m convinced we lucked out in the baby department — aside from how terrible I was at adapting to lack of sleep. In two days, this guy turns a whole year old. We made it! The Aubs

Welcome, little kid. Now grow old and optimistically-cynical and appreciate my blog! But seriously, isn’t she adorable? I mean, even if you don’t know her personally. You have to admit it. Apocolypse Eventually!

Well! Let me tell you. It’s my sister’s 23rd birthday today. Hope she’s both having a blast and over the flu today. Setting the clocks back has ruined us all. I think I’ve heard every single person I’ve talked to this week complain that they are tired, and right now I’d have to agree with them. Napping my 4 hour break between shifts away sounds pretty good right now. Except that there’s only 2 hours left by now. At any rate… sleep! Share the post … Continue reading

Fuckdamn!

What a monumental day in the history of the world. And I mean that. I really hope this administration does a lot of good for America and the rest of us. My teeth remind me of white, oversized corn niblets. Sushi is good, but it is very filling. Happy birthday, Papa. As always, we miss you. Share the post “Fuckdamn!” FacebookXShare… Continue reading

Happy Birthday, George

Ah, the stories we have from growing up. A lanky, flat-chested, pimple-faced girl of 12, I would sit on my front porch (the back patio at that point was yet to be built) reading magazines, books, whathaveyou. Always reading. And George, an older boy who I’d known seemingly forever in this neighbourhood, would happen by sometimes and ask what I was reading. Often I was reading things I planned for him to ask me about. He was good looking. Tall, skinny-ish, dark hair… the rare, … Continue reading
