Miklos got us some pre-sale tickets to the Joel Plaskett show at Hamilton Place Theatre on October 19! I don’t get excited for much, but I always look forward to a Plaskett show with my gentleman’s accompaniment. Share the post “EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE” FacebookXShare… Continue reading
…or a few hours anyway. So rarely does the house smell as good as it does when there’s no Labrador to shed all over it. I love this dog (now) but I am always glad for these blue moon opportunities to thoroughly mop the hell out of the floors she encrusts with her poochy filth for hours every day. While I wait for the floor to dry as I am stranded on this island of a computer chair, I’m re-familiarizing myself with the sweet rock … Continue reading

I already have the itches. We first spotted mosquitoes at my parents’ house in their back yard on Thursday night, March 15. This marks probably the earliest I can recall in a year for these pests but it really isn’t surprising after a winter mild as it was. Either this will be a remarkably long summer or we’ll be seeing snow in August, and if that’s the case I am out of here, Canada. I can handle a few mosquitoes though, if it’s the situation … Continue reading

Beck – Cellphone’s Dead The Strokes – Reptilia And of course, something for the moody people. Not sure if this is some kind of exercise in others evaluating my coolness, but I saw a hashtag on Twitter, and who can ignore those? My #First20SongsonShuffle: 1. Weezer – Say it Ain’t So If you don’t like this song, you are crazy. 2. Thrush Hermit – Skip the Life We’re doing great so far – indie kid cred up the wazoo, at least for the late ’90s. 3. Metric – On the Sly I like Metric but I can’t say I’ve listened to … Continue reading
Skip this post if you’re not into the reality shows, kids. Some might say I have a few too many awful television guilty pleasures. The important part is that they are all seasonal competition shows, so I view them about once a week for a couple months at a time and it’s not interfering with exercise and reading, my two other big hobbies (of the year so far). Okay, enough justification. I said it last year. If they vote this guy off, I will never … Continue reading
