The people of Samoa skipped Friday this week AND got paid for it. I don’t mean that they skipped work, I mean that they actually fell asleep Thursday and woke up Saturday, and not due to influenza. There was no Friday! Because they do more business with Australia and New Zealand than the US, they decided to ‘move’ to the other side of the international date line in order to have two more full business days for their larger client base. Business savvy! And… Continue reading
Apparently this isn’t Radiohead. But it’s sure nice like Radiohead. I hadn’t heard the song a month ago so I don’t feel duped. And knowing that it’s not Thom Yorke, I notice the subtle nuances indicating that it isn’t him. Always would have noticed them though, right? Sure. My mom did her last good deed for me for 2011. I got a text from my sister saying “u ho”… which was then re-sent as “u home? lmfao”. I was directed to wait at my door,… Continue reading
Before I fell asleep, I remembered two things that gave me ha-has and I felt the need to share them with you. One’s old, one’s newer. Rob Delaney’s letter to Katy Perry Crazy kicking dance girl meme Both are worth your clicks. I remember us impersonating the kicking girl at our college cafeteria the one time. None of us could get it right. Can YOU? Time for late morning coffee. Share the post “Two Things” FacebookPinterestShare…Email Continue reading
It is strangely motivating to have a computerized voice tell you you’re doing a great job, or that your back is tilting too much toward the floor. Wii Fit Plus, you are a great gift. I am going to have posture one day, for at least a week. I have the body of a 39 year old, which is a great surprise since I feel at least 47. Time to remedy that. I am the kind of person who calls her work and then hangs up just to find out who’s there. Well, today. Our schedules this December have been, to put it mildly, straight-up trippin’ y’all! And to put it normally, “a little all over the place”, so I called this morning in fear that I was actually supposed to already be there. When I called, it wasn’t (a) me, or (b) no one who answered, but rather (c) someone else. What a relief. I could… Continue reading
I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas! The past two days have been wonderfully packed with family, food, Christmas music and my gent, which kind of ruled. And it’s nice to enjoy a full day off once a year without a trip to Walmart. Now everything can slow back down and sweet reality can set on in once more. A few more days and 2011’s over. I found myself so ahead of the game this year with everything (excluding wedding planning, yeek). Did you?… Continue reading
There is a Photography section now. Thank you Miklos, you worked so hard to get just the right layout for me. Now I would like another smoothie please. Share the post “Photo Update” FacebookPinterestShare…Email Continue reading
Yesterday I met one of my many idols to whom I have nothing interesting to say. If you live in Canada, claim to love music, and don’t know who Alan Cross is, for shame. Anyway, him. Three of us got up 3 hours before the crack of dawn and headed to the Feathery Pub in St Catharines (where I think I got bedbugs from a booth seat) to listen to Alan Cross read his version of “Twas the Night Before Christmas”, which I missed almost… Continue reading
I love Facebook, don’t get me wrong, (well, I don’t love about as much as I actually love about it) but why do people feel the need to post every personal dilemma that happens there? It is not 200-1000 people’s business what happens to you. Some of us need lessons in self respect. A great quote from a good movie called Easy A: I don’t know what your generation’s fascination is with documenting your every thought… but I can assure you, they’re not all diamonds.… Continue reading
