The Sun Also Sucks

If there’s one thing that gets me every time, it’s having a wet shirt sleeve.  Man oh man, do I hate that! I decided a couple weeks ago to try another Hemingway novel to test its “any better”-ness than A Farewell to Arms. Well, 100 pages in, I again felt I was wasting my life, so I quit The Sun Also Rises.  Now on to Deadeye Dick, one of the Vonnegut books I surprisingly have not read, because a friend once told me it wasn’t… Continue reading

Charlie Brown? Really?? OR: I don’t get you, Coldplay.

I just don’t get Coldplay. Chris Martin is adorable and clever and has a very pretty voice, yes, but for the life of me I can’t love his band.  That “Paradise” song (assuming it’s called that, I don’t even want to bother to consult Google with this) has its moments, and I think “Clocks” was good years ago, but I just do not comprehend the passion some people have deep in their souls for this band.  I mean, I’m sure it’s the exact thing they’d… Continue reading

Mo’ Backyard, Mo’ Problems

Morning (Absence of) Glory

Okay so I have not spent the morning picking up sticks and weird long bean strings from the back yard as I had hoped to, and do you know why?  I am addicted to sleep.  Or maybe just the compensation of sleep that seems to come in the mornings as a result of tossing and turning at night.  I miss my cheap bed.  This new plushy one with all the fixins just isn’t doing it for me.  I’m not as stiff as I was before,… Continue reading

I Love It

It must be summer in March because I am the whiniest person ever to be stuck indoors at a job this week.  Spoiled with two barbecues over the weekend, I now want all my meals cooked over a flame and served outside.  Today I had to eat processed crap from the food court (normally not up my alley, but fine nonetheless).  So disappointing. This is the year we are spoiled, people.  Let’s slather on the sunscreen in March for once, while it lasts.  Tomorrow I… Continue reading
