I’ve been workin’ on the railroad, all the livelong day…

Make no mistake about it, I have not been working on any railroads. Actually, I’ve been paying $117 for a tire that decided to implode this morning. Better im- than ex-, I always say. It was that which had me decide to spend even more money on a load of shit that I don’t really need. Nothing like a nice bill to break the spending seal. I guess once in a while, when things are [as] golden [as they can be, for a recent graduate… Continue reading

Hat Magic

I have this awesome hat. Originally I called it my ‘immigrant cabby’ hat. Originally, also, it fit my head. I think my hair was really flat that day. I wish someone cool with a slightly smaller head than mine (or with the same sized head but less hair) could use this hat. It’s going to waste. Also… the aforementioned Tim Hortons cup on my desk just moved on my desk. Maybe due to some hard-typing. Maybe due to ghosts. I’ll investigate this further at a… Continue reading

I don’t play baby games.

An empty Tim Hortons cup sits on my desk, to the left of my computer and to the Southeast of my phone. This is a cue for me to make a tea. I enjoy a good Earl Grey tea these days. I also enjoy ‘paying back’ my sleep debt. One day Miklos is going to pay back his sleep debt too, but his case will be much more Van Winkle than mine (minus all the tragedy). When he awakes, there will be mugs and mugs… Continue reading

Nothing to see here.

The good stuff isn’t here. It’s in a book that I still haven’t finished which I started writing in, say, 6 years ago. It has all sorts of tidbits. But I think I should start a fresh one because I feel like I’m bound to go somewhere really good with my life now. Yes, this is the gayest post I’ve written yet. And it’ll just get gayer, folks. But it’ll never be as gay as what you’d read in the book I haven’t started writing… Continue reading

Burning bridges and it feels so good…

Miklos agrees with me that there’s something definitely askew with that part of the highway in the rain where I almost went out of control today. Which is good because it means that I can still know him. Also good: Cranberry juice. And those square wafer cookies that are covered in a layer of chocolate. Man, that’s good. Apparently we had them at the island all weekend and I was none the wiser. Next time, Island. Fool me once, shame on you. What’s with summer… Continue reading

Played.

Quebec, at least the part of it I’ve been to as of this weekend, is beautifully scenic. Not horribly scenic by any means. I officially have a ‘Hang in There’ kitty on my wall in calendar form this month. This can only mean good things. Or at least that I’ll try to maintain some sanity. Rare is the day that I’m not out in the evening, and as such, I barely get to watch Jeopardy anymore. Miklos is hard, hard, hard at work, so I… Continue reading

Project: Pay Off Student Loan is in effect. I need some ideas that don’t involve work. I’ve decided on: gambling selling my least useful body parts to science (good-bye, baby toes!) manufacturing and selling cat merchandise entering any and every contest with a cash prize more gambling The bank ripped me off 20 cents in my roll of laundry quarters today. Opened them up to do my wash and what did I find, but a lousy nickel in between the other coins. Sure, half the… Continue reading

Five days after I hit the ground…

I’ve never been happier for one day off to come. I don’t have a full weekend, but I do have tomorrow off before 40-ish hours of work (and bonecrushing agony, probably, what with my new foot and leg pains), 32 of which will be spent sans-customers at a new store setting up. Should be less stressful than usual, anyway. Anyway, I don’t care what I do for the next 36 or so hours, as long as none of it involves working. Share the post “Five… Continue reading
