CREAM DELIVERY!

Apparently this isn’t Radiohead.  But it’s sure nice like Radiohead.  I hadn’t heard the song a month ago so I don’t feel duped.  And knowing that it’s not Thom Yorke, I notice the subtle nuances indicating that it isn’t him.  Always would have noticed them though, right?  Sure. My mom did her last good deed for me for 2011.  I got a text from my sister saying “u ho”… which was then re-sent as “u home? lmfao”.  I was directed to wait at my door, … Continue reading

Twas the Night Before the Night Before Christmas (Today)

Yesterday I met one of my many idols to whom I have nothing interesting to say.  If you live in Canada, claim to love music, and don’t know who Alan Cross is, for shame.  Anyway, him.  Three of us got up 3 hours before the crack of dawn and headed to the Feathery Pub in St Catharines (where I think I got bedbugs from a booth seat) to listen to Alan Cross read his version of “Twas the Night Before Christmas”, which I missed almost … Continue reading

Tunes for the Taking

I’m also in love with Fleet Foxes. They make me wish I could sing. A big part of my life is involved in having nervous breakdowns due to the poorly-designed navigations/loop-de-loops of Canadian government websites.  Miklos met a government web developer once and I maintain that he probably should have strangled him.  All is well now, however, I have printed 18 copies of the form I needed today in case I ever need to use it again. Messages from Friends

While cleaning up around the place this afternoon, “Generation X-Wing” stuck itself in my head. It was enough for me to actually muster up the courage to scour my (very) dusty CD collection and dig up Matthew Good Band’s Raygun. After that, it became a kind of marathon of tunes I hadn’t heard for a while. Ahh, memories (of drives by myself). It was nice. I think radio has damaged my head. I’ll have to charge my mp3 player more often, because there is really … Continue reading

I’ve got the time but the time don’t pay

So, I’m in love with a few things lately. Including but not limited to the following bulleted — but not numbered — list. (At any rate, the first thing listed is always the most important, so yes I’m a suck, shut up.) Miklos The incredible spring-like weather, in spring for once Story ideas (I’ve got a few; must sit down and hash something out) A weekend where I only have to work once Birthday in a week Excitement for Hungary is building on a daily … Continue reading

Mistaking Satellites for Stars

I am very, very slowly recovering from the Thrush Hermit show last night at Lee’s Palace. The best word to sum that experience up is WOW. They played every song I wanted to hear, and they blew the roof, the walls, the doors, andthe pants right off that place. On our failed attempt to get Green P parking behind the place, we saw the guys just hanging out beside their van. Got to love how down-to-earth they are. We also stopped at Book City. I’ve … Continue reading
